I have always been a lover of words. And enjoy learning new ones as I read or converse with others.
I also enjoy the words found in quotations, wondering how the writer of the quoted language came up with those particular words.
So, long story short, I’m starting a weekly post on words. I’ll share new ones I’ve learned the previous week, or you’ll receive a quote by an author or from a book. I hope you enjoy!
This first installment is made up of three words I looked up while reading this week. Note that I share the definition which best suited my reading material. Otherwise, I’d have to reproduce the dictionary!
entropy [en-truh-pee]: lack of order or predictability; gradual decline into disorder: a marketplace where entropy reigns supreme.
solipsism [sol-ip-siz-uh m]: the theory that only the self exists, or can be proved to exist.
What new words did you come across this week?
